Construction Inspector 

We have a current opening in our Buffalo office for a Construction Inspector for local infrastructure, highway, bridge and other public works construction projects. The position will represent the owner’s interests and provide oversight of the general contractor’s conformance to the contract documents. The successful candidate must have solid inspection experience and general all-around knowledge of infrastructure construction including highways, bridges, site work, traffic control, drainage, paving, concrete work and health and safety. Someone with 3 - 6 years of related experience as well as NICET certification or approved equivalent experience required, Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred.

Wetland Scientist/Ecologist

This position offers work that is primarily done in support of transportation clientele and involves bridge, roadway, and canal/riverine projects. Secondary markets include large institutional clients (colleges, medical facilities, etc.) and power generation and distribution. The candidate will be an integral part of a small, dedicated environmental department team. Responsibilities include experience in organizing and carrying out natural habitat consulting services including stream and wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species evaluations, waters of the United States permitting (New York State focus), preparing National Environmental Policy Act documents, and other related activities. Candidate should have 2-10 years of experience. Expected days of field work (primarily non-overnight travel) may average 20-30 days per year.

Environmental Scientist/Engineer  

Immediate opening for a full-time Environmental Scientist. The right person will be able to uphold client relationships with various state agencies (NYSDOT, SUCF, DASNY, NYSDEC, OGS, NYCDEP). Position includes fieldwork, documentation, and research, as requested. Also assist with preparing design documents and needs to be familiar with NYSDEC and USEPA environmental regulations.

Environmental Consultant/Asbestos Inspector 

Watts is in need of an Environmental Consultant to join our Buffalo office. The right person will hold current NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector & Project Monitor/Air Sampling Certifications and have a minimum of five years' experience performing asbestos, PCB, and hazardous materials surveys. The preferred candidate will have their EIT Certification, NYSDOL Project Designer Certification, Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessor or Inspector certificate, experience in preparing site-specific variance petitions and mold assessor.
