Watts designed exterior tables and benches for the Northland Workforce Training Center & Gigi’s Restaurant. Students from Burgard and McKinley High Schools in Buffalo constructed them as part of their summer curriculum!
Exterior tables and benches for the Northland Workforce Training Center and Gigi’s Restaurant were designed by Watts and constructed by students from Burgard and McKinley High Schools in Buffalo. Staff from Empire State Development and Gilbane Building Company assisted with project administration and material procurement. Students from Burgard High provided metalworking and students from McKinley provided woodworking as part of their summer program. We anticipate additional tables and benches will be constructed by students in upcoming semesters.
The Burgard students who assisted with the metal work are Swa Big, Salam Hadish, Imran Khan, Rickwon Mason, Taj McKenzie and Richard Mehnert.
