“The road to success is always under construction.” – Lily Tomlin✨️

This quote reminds us that success is an ongoing process. Take for example the H. Carl McCall Building, also known as SUNY Plaza. Originally constructed between 1914-1918 as the headquarters for D&H Railroad, it's welcomed generations through its doors and currently houses the State University of New York (SUNY) Administration offices.
More than one hundred years later, success is still part of this building's narrative. Watts is part of the design consultant team and provided detailed investigations and surveys of any potential hazardous materials that could impact the design and construction costs associated with renovations of this remarkable structure. The estimated construction cost is around $14.8 million.
Scott from our Regulated Building Materials team sent in this stunning view from some of his summer field work. It helps reinforce the notion that success truly is a continuous journey.
The renovation project involves tasks such as the removal and replacement of cast stone features, masonry repointing, slate roof repair and replacement, along with minor renovations inside. Additionally, it will focus on providing necessary structural support and repairs to five of the building's turrets.
