CDBG Year 39 Streets and Sidewalks
Buffalo, New York
Under a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Watts prepared contract documents, and is providing construction inspection and administration for this federally-funded Community Development Block Grant Project. The project replaced sidewalk, driveway approaches, curbs, and ramps on four streets within the City of Buffalo.
Approximately 60,000 square feet of concrete were placed, in addition to associated pavement, drainage, and utility adjustments. Tree protection is another key element of the project as the streets have many mature trees that would be vulnerable to root damage during construction. Watts also provided field survey of proposed ramps to facilitate positive drainage and efficient construction of ramps and curbs.
As the project is federally-funded, detailed pre-construction and post-construction photo documentation were required.
