Cornell University, Project & Air Monitoring Term Contracts

Under six consecutive blanket agreements, Watts has been a trusted partner to Cornell University, providing on-call asbestos survey, project monitoring, air sampling and analysis, and associated environmental consulting services across multiple campuses. Our long-standing relationship with Cornell reflects both the technical expertise and responsiveness of our Regulated Building Materials team.

Each blanket agreement encompasses a wide range of services supporting asbestos abatement efforts, including pre-abatement surveys and inspections, development of abatement design documents (scope of works) including drawings, regulatory compliance consulting, and project monitoring/air sampling oversight services. 
From 2015 through 2024, Watts completed over 240 individual assignments under the blanket contracts. These assignments occurred in a wide variety of facility types—ranging from dormitories and academic buildings to research laboratories and administrative offices.  To date, Watts has completed projects on almost every building on the Ithaca campus and the majority on the Geneva campus.  Notable locations include the Central Heating Plant, Geneva Food Research Facility, College of Veterinary Medicine, campus libraries, and the Cornell Store.

Under the current 2024-2025 blanket agreement, we have worked on over 50 assignments providing asbestos consulting services.  
By maintaining a deep understanding of campus operations, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, Watts continues to support Cornell in maintaining safe, compliant, and healthy environments for students, faculty, and staff.
