D900013 I-I90 & NY265 over NYPA Reservoir Design Build Project
Lewiston, New York
This bridge rehabilitation is the first design-build project advanced by NYSDOT Region 5. The project replaces the decks for three 800-foot span bridge over the New York Power Authority Reservoir. Various substructure repairs and utility replacements are also included.
Watts’ responsibilities for this design included serving as the Engineer of Record for the waterline relocations erosion and sediment control plans, inspection of catwalk design, substructure repairs and other miscellaneous tasks. The waterline work involved the installation of 2 – 24” ductile iron pipes. 800’ of the installed length is hung from the bridge girders, thus totaling 1600’ of bridge-mounted 24” ductile iron waterline.
Other waterline features include an air release chamber and 4” service to the adjacent NYPA facility. All work was coordinated with the Town of Lewiston Water Department and the Niagara County Water District.
