Erie County Central Police Public Safety Campus
Buffalo, New York
As the civil and environmental engineers for the Central Police Public Safety Campus, Watts was responsible for the demolition of the existing reinforced concrete and steel framed buildings on the site, asbestos consulting and new site development.
Watts surveyed the building for asbestos, completed all reports, and submitted the results to the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) in accordance with state regulations. We designed the asbestos abatement project and provided specifications and drawings to facilitate the work. Watts was also retained to provide area air sampling and oversight services for the County asbestos abatement crew.
Watts also designed the site work for the new police campus including site grading, utilities, paving and site security structures. The site security structures included the design of crash resistant concrete retaining walls, vehicle barriers, and earth-retaining walls surrounding the site.
Watts provided construction support services reviewing submittals and responding to requests for information throughout the project.
