University at Buffalo, Hayes Hall Restoration
Buffalo, New York
Hayes Hall on the University at Buffalo South Campus is undergoing a $25 million restoration project. Hayes Hall, a high-profile building on campus, is an historic structure and stands as one of the original buildings at the university.
The renovation project includes extensive interior demolition and there are known asbestos containing materials throughout. Because of the extensive environmental impacts, Watts provided full architecture and environmental constructability reviews of the construction documents provided by the A/E responsible for the renovation design.
Watts is presently providing an experienced, asbestos-certified construction manager to monitor progress of the interior abatement/demolition and to manage the asbestos abatement portion of the project. Watts is also providing full time asbestos project monitoring/air sampling for the asbestos abatement portion of the project.
