Morrisville State College, Dairy Barn Renovation
Morrisville, New York
Watts performed civil and environmental engineering services for the conversion of an existing dairy barn to a new educational facility on the Morrisville State College campus. The new barn structure was created to replicate the look of the previous dairy barn which was part of the original campus.
Watts provided civil engineering services that included the full site design. We prepared the site removals plans, specified and detailed the new site features, and provided the surface grading. Watts designed the exterior utility installations, including the stormwater collection, conveyance, and treatment plans.
Watts wrote and implemented a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Report in accordance with the NYS DEC SPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges, Permit No. GP-0-08-001, which included both temporary and permanent erosion and sedimentation control measures.
The environmental engineering services included sampling, testing, reporting, and abatement design for asbestos containing materials and lead. The building was remediated before it was demolished.
Watts performed Construction Administration services, including making periodic site visits, answering contractor Requests for Information, and reviewing technical product submittals.
