Watts has completed over 450 projects at health care facilities across New York State. Our experience runs the gamut from architecture to asbestos consulting and includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil and structural engineering. Our clients have included Public and Private Hospitals, Nursing/Long Term Facilities, Psychiatric Centers and Research Facilities.
As a prime consultant to an owner, or as a sub consultant to another A/E firm, Watts has consistently delivered quality projects and specific solutions to our healthcare clients. We are knowledgeable of the special design constraints particular to health care projects and work to understand each facility's culture to inform design process. Watts’ staff is familiar with the Planetree philosophy and has used the principles of Evidence-Based Healthcare Design to guide decisions on numerous patient-centered projects.
Watts has provided architecture, engineering and/or environmental consulting services on numerous projects at medical and research facilities alike. Our project experience includes upgrades to patient wards, renovations to operating rooms, relocations of laboratories, reconfigurations of nurse's stations, upgrading neurology, colonoscopy and internal medicine suites or projects in alcohol treatment centers and developmental centers. Our staff is well-versed in the special code requirements, conditions and concerns related to medical facilities. We appreciate the need for careful staging and swing space requirements, infection control, project containment, privacy concerns and the importance of design requirements that are as unique as each medical facility.
